Summary
PDFeather is an offline PDF editor, scanner and signing app for iPhone and iPad, published by Central Park Limited ("we", "us"). Your documents are processed on your device and never leave it unless you choose to share them yourself. There are no accounts and no sign-in, and we never see your files. The app does record anonymous usage statistics so we know which features to improve, and you can switch those off — see Usage Analytics below.
Information We Collect
Nothing from your documents. We never receive, store or transmit the files you open, scan, edit, sign or export, and we run no server they could be sent to.
Anonymous usage statistics, unless you turn them off. PDFeather includes Google Analytics for Firebase, which records which features are used. Usage Analytics below sets out exactly what is recorded and how to switch it off.
We never collect your name, email address, contacts, location, advertising identifier, or the contents, file names or metadata of your documents. PDFeather asks for no app-tracking permission and uses no advertising identifier.
Your Documents
Every PDF you open, scan, edit, sign, merge, split, compress, redact or password-protect is processed entirely on your device using Apple's on-device frameworks. Files are stored in the app's private storage on your device.
If you enable iCloud Drive as your save location in Settings, your files are synced through your own Apple iCloud account. That data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy; we have no access to it.
Sharing, printing or exporting a document only happens when you explicitly tap the share button and choose a destination. We are not a party to that transfer.
Camera
PDFeather asks for camera permission solely so you can scan paper documents into PDFs. Camera frames are processed on your device and turned into a PDF stored locally. Nothing is uploaded, and we do not retain images. You can decline or revoke camera access at any time in iOS Settings; the rest of the app continues to work.
Text Recognition (OCR)
Text recognition runs entirely on your device through Apple's Vision framework. Page contents are never sent to us or to any third party for processing.
Purchases
PDFeather offers an optional PDFeather PRO upgrade. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We never see or store your payment details. Apple provides us only anonymous, aggregated sales reports. Purchase handling is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Usage Analytics
PDFeather uses Google Analytics for Firebase. While it is on, the app records events such as: which tool you opened and whether it finished or failed, which screen you are viewing, whether a document came from the camera, your photos, a blank page or an import, whether the upgrade screen was shown, and whether a purchase or a restore started, completed or failed. A failure is recorded as a symbolic name for the error, never as a message that could carry your text.
These events never include a document's contents, its file name, its metadata, or anything you type.
Alongside them the Firebase SDK collects what it collects in every app that uses it: a randomly generated app instance identifier, your device model, operating-system version, app version and an approximate region derived from your IP address. Google processes this on our behalf; see Google's Privacy Policy.
Switching it off. Open PDFeather, tap the gear icon at the top right of the Home tab and turn off "Share Usage Analytics". Collection stops straight away, and nothing else in the app changes.
Downloadable Fonts
When you pick a font for a text box that is not already installed on your device, PDFeather downloads it from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). The request names only the font you chose and, like any web request, reaches Google with your IP address. Nothing is requested until you pick a font, and the font is then stored on your device so it works offline.
Third Party Access
PDFeather carries no advertising, attribution or crash-reporting service, and we sell or share nothing with anyone. The only third parties that receive anything are the ones described above: Apple, for App Store purchases and, if you turn it on, iCloud Drive; and Google, for the usage analytics you can switch off and for a font you choose to download.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your documents remain on your device for as long as you keep them. Deleting a document in the app removes it from device storage, and deleting the app removes all of its local data. We hold no account, contact or document data about you, so there is nothing of that kind to request the deletion of. Usage events are retained by Google Analytics for the period set on our Firebase project and are keyed only to a random app instance identifier; deleting the app discards that identifier.
Children
PDFeather is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The usage events described above carry no personal information.
Security
Documents are stored inside the app's sandbox and protected by iOS file-level encryption and your device passcode. PDFeather can additionally encrypt individual PDFs with a password you choose. That password is not stored by us or recoverable by us — if you lose it, the file cannot be opened.
Your Rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold no account, contact or document data about you. The usage events described above are pseudonymous — keyed to a random app instance identifier and to no person — so we cannot connect them to you; switching off "Share Usage Analytics" stops them, and deleting the app discards the identifier. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of PDFeather after an update means you accept the revised policy.
